George is the Saint of Catalonia as well. Big day here. Everyone gives each other a book or a rose.

I like the story about that group that produced St George's Day t shirts with the standard red Cross on them.

Only difference being that when they heated up "St George was Syrian" appeared in the cross.

Classic.

What an odd post.

The English had mostly stopped speaking Old English by the time St. George displaced St. Edmund the Martyr as patron Saint of England.

Lots of punchy people on this thread, honouring the English spirit

No surrender

Re: St George his day which is the 23d day of April - No thread?
The only people English people I've known who have ever taken the slightest interest in St. George have either been antiquity professors or bald, pasty divorced blokes who can't handle the sun and suffer from cholesterol-related cardiac failure. Representatives of the two groups definitely wouldn't enjoy each other's company - what a loser of a patron saint.

Thickle, this is a thread for English people. You’re not English so off you pop to the EU thread to continue obsessing over your poncing drying up.

What you gonna do about it?
